Performance and Possibility of Growing Wheat Varieties in Chalan Beel Area

The experiment was conducted at Dobila, Tarash of Shirajgonj in Chalan Beel during rabi season 2016-17 and 2017-18. treatments were four wheat varieties viz. ‘BARI Gom-25’, Gom-26’, Gom-28’ Gom-30’. Wheat var. Gom-30’ produced the highest grain yield (5.02 t/ha 4.83 2017-18 with pooled value 4.93 t/ha) associated higher number spikes/m2 (372-444/m2 408/m2) grains/spike (pooled 45/spike). required field duration 113 days. Two years’ results revealed that performed better area respect mean (4.93 economics (Gross margin Tk.100400/ha BCR 1.78). There no blast infestation experimental both years. Farmers showed moderate interest to grow specially upland (medium low land Beel) condition. Among variety could be suitable for cultivation area.
